Fueled by her passion in afro-cuban percussion, Serena plays a variety of these instruments, including the congas, bongos, timbales, djembe and many more. Her journey has brought her many opportunities to share a variety of stages with different artistes, both local and international.
During the Youth Olympic Games 2010, Serena was very honoured to have represented Singapore in a series of the Journey of the Olympic Flame performances in Korea and Mexico. The troupe included a multi-racial cast with musicians playing a fusion of modern and ethnic instruments to showcase the uniqueness of a multi-cultural Singapore.
Other bands Serena has worked with includes the Ethnicity Percussion Troupe, Jumping Jacks Band (au), Thomson Big Band, Wicked Aura and Lila Drums at WOMAD 2005 and 2007.
